Tatworth Memorial Hall (T.M.H.)

Tatworth Memorial Hall will meet all your social and business needs (see "Coming Events" for activities in the hall). It offers flexible accommodation for group large and small and is the ideal venue for meetings, training sessions, parties, film shows. dancing and concerts.
The Hall opened in 1953 and was extended and refurbished in 2001 with the help from the National Lottery. It is a registered charity and is managed by a committee of volunteers who are the trustees. The Hall has been awarded Hallmark 2 by the Community Council for Somerset in recognition of the quality of its management. It receives no public money and is entirely dependent on hire charges and fund raising activities. For hire charges please see the bottom of this page.
HOW TO FIND US
The Hall is situated in Kents Road, in the centre of Tatworth, 2 miles south of Chard and 4 miles north of Axminster. From Chard take the A358 in the direction of Axminster and turn left at Tatworth Church. Follow the road to a T-junction with the B3167 and turn right. Take the third turning on the right which is signposted to the hall. From Axminster take the A358, direction Chard. Just after Tytherleigh turn right onto the B3167 and after entering Perry Street take the next left turn after the Spar shop which is signposted to the Hall.
THE MAIN HALL
The Hall is proud of its original wooden floor, large curtained stage with high quality lighting, sound system and drop down screen. A good quality piano is available.
The Hall can accommodate up to 140 people for a meeting or a performance. The Hall has a premises licence for the sale of alcohol and is also licensed by the Performing Rights Society
THE COZENS' ROOM
This room adjoins the Hall and has a bar. It may also be used as a small meeting room.
THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, fridge, and microwave. there is ample crockery, cutlery and glassware.
HOSKINS' ANNEXE (built in 2001)
THE BREWER ROOM
provides smaller (8.4 x 4.5 metres) self contained accommodation for meetings and functions. It is comfortably carpeted and furnished with good lighting and facilities for preparing refreshments. It will accommodate up to 40 in close seating.
THE STONHAM ROOM provides another smaller room ( 7.4 x 4.5 metres) two thirds is carpeted and the remainder has a washable floor and can be furnished with an adjustable medical couch, examination chair and light and a small trolley. "Hallmark" Award I and 2.
The Hallmark Achievement Award for Village and Community Halls
Awarded by The Community Council for Somerset.
Hallmark Awards are for village and community halls in Somerset. The awards assess the sterling worth of halls and their committees throughout the county, recognising and improving levels of achievement against an agreed standard.
The Award has three levels:
Hallmark 1 focuses on the management and administration of the charity.
Hallmark 2 focuses on health, safety, security and licenses
Hallmark 3 focuses on communication with the community, with users and within the committee. Also included in this award are general social awareness, forward planning and development.

Sessional Hire
Morning (9-1pm) or Afternoon (2-6pm): residents of Tatworth and Forton £20 per session, non-residents £30 per session
Evening (7 - midnight): residents of Tatworth and Forton £30 per session, non-residents, £45 per session
Hourly Hire
Morning or afternoon: residents of Tatworth and Forton £8, non-residents £10 Evening: residents of Tatworth and Forton- £13, non-residents £18
Brewer Room, Stonham Room and Cozens' Room
Non Residents £8 per hour
Special rates are available to new groups starting up and to clubs and societies with small memberships.
