Residents Action Group (RAG)
The Residents Action Group (RAG).
RAG was formed in January 2004 and a Parish newsletter, "The Drift", was started soon afterwards, both in response to need identified by the Parish Plan 2002.
RAG is a formal 'umbrella' body with a constitution and a bank account that organises work programmes and projects and seeks funding on behalf of the various project teams. Any resident can join in the work of RAG and give as much or as little time as they wish.
The projects divide into four broad groups: Services and Amenities, Environment, Safety and Security and Transport. RAG projects are continually expanding and now include the Community Speedwatch team, this Community Website, two printed collections of walks around the Parish, regular guided walks in this area and beyond, litter picks, talks and activities for the 50+'s under the Active Living programme, a Health and Wellbeing Centre with exercise classes, complementary therapies, chiropody and podiatry, health check-ups and healthy living advice sessions. A disaster emergency plan, CEMenT, has been formed to co-ordinate immediate action in the event of major accidents, epidemics or flooding.
Meetings: on the 3rd Tuesday of Jan.,Mar.,May,Jul.,Sept.,Nov., at 7.30pm in the Brewer Room at the Memorial Hall.
